This is a paper pertaining to the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes. This is a concept that states has been considering and debating in their jurisdictions. First, this paper will explain why supporters of the legislation I researched believe marijuana should be legalized. Secondly, this paper will analyze the public policy issues associated with the legalization of marijuana for the legislation I selected, paying particular attention to newness and implementation of the legislation as well as how the state intends to simultaneously adhere to federal laws banning marijuana.
